Disposal of used tyres, batteries, parts and oil
As an industry leader, AutoXpress is committed to the reduction of environmental pollution and waste.
It is with the above in mind that we initiated a responsible disposal policy program in January 2017 where we are committing ourselves to the disposal of used tyres, used oil, used batteries and used parts in a manner that is as environmentally friendly as possible.
Disposal of used tyres
1. Used tyres are being collected from all our branches across the country and are disposed in different ways:
2. Creating recreational facilities such as an obstacle course at the zip-line facility at Kereita forest in Limuru Building school playgrounds ins schools for children
3. Used as fuel in cement kilns at high temperature to minimise any fumes and gases
Disposal of used batteries and used oil
We have partnered with NEMA certified collecting agents who recycle used batteries for lead and oil for use in timber pole treatment.
Disposal of parts
In order to dispose shocks and coil springs, we are encouraging branches to partner with scrap metal agents near them who are recycling the metal
